Frequently asked questions
Shorter answers. Longer ones are in the documentation.
If what you need is not here, write to hello@stapilo.com — a person reads it.
What is Uploader for?
Writing something once and publishing it to the social accounts you own, without opening each one in turn. It publishes what you give it; it does not write, schedule or edit anything on its own.
Do I need a developer account on each network?
No. The application registered with each network is ours. You approve it in the network's own sign-in window, and what that window lists is the whole of what we can do.
Do you see my social media password?
No. You type it into the network's own sign-in page, never into Uploader. What reaches us is a token that network issued, which you can revoke from the network's settings at any time. Telegram is the one exception, and it is not a password either: you create a bot in Telegram, make it an administrator of your channel, and paste that bot's token — revoking it in Telegram cuts us off at once.
Can you read my feed or my messages?
No, and not because we promise not to — we never asked the networks for that permission, so the access we hold cannot do it. We request what is needed to publish, plus enough to show you which account is connected.
What happens when a token expires?
A sweep runs twice a day and renews anything lapsing within the week, so most tokens never reach their expiry. If one lapses anyway, only that account fails and reconnecting it takes one click.
What happens to a photo or video I upload?
We keep a copy and serve it from our domain, because several publishing APIs fetch media from a URL instead of accepting an upload. It is listed in the privacy policy with everything else we store, and you can give us a URL instead if you would rather we held nothing.
Why did my TikTok post end up private?
TikTok only allows an application it has not yet reviewed to post privately. Until our review passes, a TikTok post is visible to you alone. We ask for the visibility you chose on every post and accept the restriction only when TikTok imposes it.
One account failed and the rest worked. Why?
Each account is published independently on purpose. A token that lapsed, a file the network refused, or a network having a bad afternoon affects that account only. The reason is kept in your post history.
How do I disconnect an account, or delete everything?
Disconnect an account from the dashboard and its tokens are deleted immediately. To remove your whole account, email us and we delete your login, your sessions, every connected account and every token we hold. Posts already published stay published — we have no way to reach them once they are out.
Can a script or an agent publish without me?
Yes. Create an API key and it reaches the same accounts through the same call. Anything done with your key counts as done by you.
Which networks are supported?
Facebook, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, Bluesky, Telegram and Discord. The documentation lists what each of them accepts, because not all of them take every kind of post.
Do you sell my data or show me advertising?
Neither. We run no advertising, we build no advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
